AUDREY THACKER
Audrey is Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Thacker Caskets, Inc. and Thacker Casket Manufacturing. She is a native of the Scranton, PA area. While working for a local casket manufacturer, Audrey met and later married Carl Thacker, owner of Old Dominion Casket Company of Washington, DC. She moved to Washington and became active with the firm. Following her husband’s untimely death, Audrey boldly took the reins and kept the company viable until her young son, CJ, was able to come on board with the firm full time. Today, Thacker Caskets, Inc. owes its very existence to Audrey and her strong determination in the face of very challenging circumstances. Audrey maintains an active presence at the company working side by side with CJ and the Thacker Customer Service Team to serve their valued customers. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren Danielle, Justin, and Sara. On the rare occasions when Audrey is not on the job, she can be found just about anywhere across the globe as she is an accomplished world traveler.
CJ THACKER
CJ Thacker is Chief Executive Officer and President of Thacker Caskets, Inc. He began his career with Thacker Caskets, Inc. while still in high school. Upon graduation and the untimely death of his father, CJ came on board full time to help his mother, Audrey, run the family business. Under CJ’s guidance and management, the company has realized remarkable growth. This expansion includes serving 33 states from 13 distribution centers, and the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Florence, AL. On the personal side, CJ and his wife Diane live in Ijamsville, MD and they have three children—Danielle, Justin, and Sara. During his free time, CJ enjoys spending weekends at the family’s lake house, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.
DIANE THACKER
Diane Thacker officially joined Thacker Caskets, Inc. in December 2008, however she has long been familiar with the casket business as she is the wife of CEO, CJ Thacker, and manager of an organization of casket companies called Independent Advantage. CJ asked Diane to work for temporary help when the company went on a new computer system, but Diane liked the business so she decided to make her temporary job permanent. Diane joins the Distribution Team part time in assisting with customer inquiries, while also assisting in Accounts Receivable as well as Accounts Payable. CJ and Diane have three children: Danielle (26), Justin (23), and Sara (18). In her spare time, Diane enjoys reading, spending time at the family lake house, and attending the sports activities of her children.
DANIELLE THACKER-MOYER
Following Danielle's May 2007 graduation from Villanova University, Danielle came on board full time at Thacker Caskets. As a student, Danielle double majored in Marketing and Managment Information Systems. For the company, Danielle is responsible for developing Thacker's marketing materials, implementing and managing information systems, and hiring and training new sales personnel. Danielle enjoys outdoor activities of all sorts including running, water skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, golfing, snowboarding, and league kickball and softball. Danielle and her husband, Tyler, also spend a lot of time with their families at Deep Creek Lake in far western Maryland.
JUSTIN THACKER
In June 2011, Justin Thacker joined Thacker Caskets as a full time employee. Working for the company during his summer vacations and winter breaks while in college, Justin has done everything from customer service to implementing a delivery truck GPS tracking system to sales. Justin graduated in 2011 from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he was a left handed pitcher for the baseball team. With his new full time role at the company, Justin will concentrate his efforts on sales personnel hiring & training, tracking company benchmarks, and customer service. While not at work, Justin enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Katie, all sorts of watersports at the family lake house, hunting, working on cars, and fishing.
SARA THACKER
Sara began working for Thacker Caskets part time in June 2011. Sara is currently in her freshman year at York College in York, Pennsylvania. During her summer and winter breaks, Sara participates in a variety of duties in order to learn the business, including customer service, telephone sales, and company logistics. Sara is very excited and eager to learn the family business just as her two older siblings have. In her free time, Sara is very active. Sara is an avid softball player who recently became a member of the York College Spartans softball team and was a member of the 2011 Maryland State Championship team, the Urbana Hawks. Sara also enjoys running (recently completing a half marathon), spending time with her dogs, and hanging out with her friends.
